"I see, I see, what you can't see"
I've known this sentence all my live. It was not only in relationship with the drawings of infants, but most of the time as a wink to a photographer's work.
In the series "blind & date" both photographer and model are partly visionary and partly blind. The photographer can not use his body language and must give oral instructions with intonations and cautious empathy. In the spotlights stands a model, looking in an imaginary mirror, moving in a staring world. No doubt she puts her view in her eyes.
The photographer adapts his strategy to her blindness: a static model with eyes looking into the void. It invites him to explore this handicap, to dig deeper into the matter, to feel the experience, to analyze his dazzlement.
Model and photographer are sometimes united in looking and seeing. A touch - more to experience then to protect from an obstacle - is pure chemistry. A photo is the most innocent image produced by this chemistry. What there is more, must be looked at as individual parts of the overal picture...
