I am a young and ambitious photographer. Although "photographer" may not quite say everything, since my work is about more than just photos - it's about creating authentic atmospheres and worlds of wonder...
After two years of studying photography at St. Lukas in Brussels, I decided to go my own path by experimenting - in many ways. That's why I chose to go for autonomy and to focus on art photography.
I love the roughness of grain, in life as well as in my work, in which the dark side is usually very much present. I photograph based on feelings and emotions. Hence the importance of light in my work - as well as the influence of the art of painting in my life. Thanks to my mother (Kaat Tilley) I grew up in a world of passion and creativity, which have most certainly stimulated my determination and my sensitivity to beauty. My will to grab people by the hand and guide them along the world of my phantasy and my stories...
People who are of much inspiration to me are great photographers such as Vee Speers, Ellen von Unwerth, Walker Evans, ... as well as numerous films and styles of music.
I love contrasts, to combine harshness and softness. To me, the dark side of live seems the most interesting. I don't just make nice photos, but images that stimulate reflection.
What may come of my dreams...
