        Gallery owner Kris Rotsaert got his first bakelite Photax at a young age and went on exploration into the world of photography. The photo-virus spread violently. After completion of his art studies photography at the academy in Roeselare in 2007, he returned to the city of his yought, Bruges. In October 2008, a new project started at the Gentpoortstraat 37: KR-line gallery was born. This was also the start of an inspiring exploration of the contemporary photography landscape.

        KR-line gallery is the only gallery in Bruges dedicated to contemporary photography with a special edge, with photos that have a story to tell. Each picture is the result of the action of one individual: the photographer/artist with his own view of reality. At the gallery, we like photographers that make the difference, that produce unusual photos, images that raise questions, bring inspiration to the spectator...

        Young local talents as well as foreign artists exhibited already in the gallery: Jan Keirse with his specific B/W look at Folk. Giuseppe who has an eye for detail in "La Vi(t)a Romana", street life in Rome. Lars with abstract, almost graphic photography. Tania and Sais with the mother-daughter relation, an interaction between painting and photography. Luc and Lieven who explored the possibilities of working with visually impaired models. Others will follow, such as Lukas showing the universal beauty of a young body in "Angels of Time" or Rebekka with the contrast between innocense and death in "Pure Sang"...

        Not only young or less known photographers are given the possibility to show their work to the public. Other projects are in the pipeline, such as working with local youngsters around photography, promotion of young artists, looking at Bruges from an unusual angle,... As of february 2010, the gallery space is also available as a meeting place for small groups of 20 to 30 persons.
