KR-line gallery is the first gallery in Bruges dedicated to contemporary photography with a special edge, with photos that have a story to tell. Each picture is the result of the action of one individual: the photographer/artist with his own view of reality. At the gallery, we like photographers that make the difference, that produce unusual photos, images that raise questions, images that bring inspiration to the spectator...
Young local talents as well as foreign artists exhibited already in the gallery: Jan Keirse with his specific B/W look at Folk. Giuseppe who has an eye for detail in "La Vi(t)a Romana", street life in Rome. Lars with abstract, almost graphic photography. Tania and Sais with the mother-daughter relation, an interaction between painting and photography. Luc Dewaele who explored the possibilities of working with visually impaired models. Others followed, such as Lukas showing the universal beauty of a young body in "Angels of Time" or Rebekka with the contrast between innocense and death in "Pure Sang"...
Not only young or less known photographers are given the possibility to show their work to the public. Other projects are in the pipeline, such as working with local youngsters around photography, promotion of young artists, looking at Bruges from an unusual angle,... As of february 2010, the gallery space is also available as a meeting place for small groups of 20 to 30 persons.
